Dr. Reem Bunyan is a Consultant Neurologist and Director of the Neurosciences Center at King Fahad Specialist Hospital. She is an American Board Certified Neurologist who is super-specialized in Multiple Sclerosis with rare expertise in Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis.
Reem joined KFSHD in September of 2011 after obtaining a Master of Biomedical Sciences in Clinical and Translational Research (CTS) at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN in the area of Multiple Sclerosis. She also completed a clinical fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis and Autoimmune Neurology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Prior to this, she established the first clinical Neuroimmunology program at King Fahad Medical City, in addition to establishing a state-of-the-art department for clinical neurophysiology with highly qualified staff and equipped with the most advanced technology including MEG (magneto encephalography). She now leads the Neurosciences Center at KFSHD; the only specialized center of its kind in the Eastern Province. She recently attended an executive master program in health administration at the University of Alabama Birmingham offered on-site at King Fahad Specialist Hospital Dammam.
Dr. Bunyan attended medical school at King Faisal University, Dammam, graduated with honors and received the Prince Mohammed Bin Fahad prize for academic excellence. She then went on to residency training in Neurology at the University of Louisville, KY followed by an initial fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Disorders.
